Size Guide

Every piece in the Wardrobe is made or supplied in sizes XS–5X. Because our whites come from several makers, the same letter can mean slightly different measurements from one piece to the next. Use the measurements, not the letter. Each product page shows the maker’s own measurements under Sizing; this guide tells you how to read them.

How to measure

Use a soft tape over light clothing. Keep the tape level and snug, not tight.

  • Bust / chest — around the fullest part, tape level across the back.
  • Waist — around the natural waist, the narrowest point above the navel.
  • Hips — around the fullest part of the hips and seat, feet together.
  • Length — for agbada, bùbá, kaftans and gowns, from the top of the shoulder straight down to where you want the hem to fall.

Three things to know

  • Pieces that ship from our US warehouse follow the US sizes above.
  • Imported pieces often run about one size small. A piece labelled XL may measure like a US L. This is why every product page carries the maker’s own measurements — compare those with yours, and if you are between sizes, go up.
  • Agbada, bùbá, kaftans and most ceremonial whites are cut loose by design. For these, shoulder width and length matter more than bust or waist. Gèlè and most headwear are one size.

Still unsure? Write to us from the support desk with the piece you are looking at and your measurements, and we will tell you which size to order.
